KINGSDOWN

Red Cross Sub-Centre

Members of the Red Cross subcentre met to sort and pack clothes for UNRRA. The response to the appeal was excellent. Several sets of baby's clothes were made by members, and the sub-centre purchased two pairs of blankets and £lO worth of boys’ clothes. An appeal for tinned goods also met with a good response. Thanks are due to all residents for their assistance, also to the Junior Red Cross, who hepled to collect. The sub-centre voted £5 to the Timaru Centre toward the purchase of the Red Cross car.
