SINGLE MEN ON FURLOUGH

Free Travel Passes (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), in reply to an urgent question in the House by Mr W. M. C. Denham (Got 'emment, Invercargill), said that the Government had decided that single men on overseas furlough should have the right to take out their railway leave passes in the names of themselves and their mothers, no matter what theatre they had served in.

Mr Denham had pointed out that men from the Pacific had been denied the privilege of taking their mothers on leave.
