THOUSANDS ARRESTED
Clean-up In France '7.45 p.m.) LONDON. Sept.'7.' M. Bonnafous, former Vichy Minister of Supplies has been arrested, says the Paris radio. M. Bonnafous was one of three appointed to share the post of Vichy Minister of Propaganda in succession to M. Henriot, after Henriot was assassinated by patriots last June. The Paris Prefecture of Police has announced that 60,000 have been taken into custody in the Paris area as the purge of collaborationists is accelerated. During the week of insurrection preceding the liberation of Paris 1500 died and 7500 were wounded.
