Fire Brigade Jubilee
Approximately 150 ex-firemen and visiting firemen and their families are expected to visit Temuka during the first week in November for the celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the Temuka Volunteer Fire Brigade, and it is anticipated that difficulty will be found in finding accommodation for the visitors for the three days they are here. Inquiries made at the various hotels in and adjacent to the town show that only 23 of the visitors can be accommodated by them, and an appeal is being made by the Temuka Fire Brigade for any resident willing to take paying guests to communicate with the Superintendent (Mr R. L. Stokes) or the secretary (Mr G. W. Moulton).
