GENERAL UDET DEAD

Former German Air Ace LONDON, November 18. The Berlin radio this morning announced the death of Major-General Ernst Udet, who has been described as Goering’s right-hand man. It was announced that he died yesterday as a result of wounds received in an accident with firearms. Hitler has ordered a State funeral, and his name is to be given to the 3rd Squadron of the Luftwaffe. General Udet was the most famous, and, with Goering, one of the few surviving German air aces of the last war. He flew continuously from 1914 to 1913, and had sixty-two Allied machines to his credit.
