(P.A.) AUCKLAND, ' :ptember 8. A request is being made to the Dominion Council of Primary Production by the Auckland District Council to endeavour to arrange for t .ackers’ training colleges to begin the holidays early so that students may help with harvesting. .
A letter from a farmer stating that he was working a 270-acre farm by him—li sine? two brothers had bec.r - ’led up was received by the council. The writer asked t “ council to support his appeal. Mr A. Best said that encouraging appeals by single men mea t hastening the time wh married men would be called up. The chairman (Mr R C. Clark) said the Government would have to rcide how far it was going to allow land and stock to go back during t’ war. The council’s main concern was that of primary production. After a discussion the council decided, on the chairman's suggestion, to advise the Crown representative on the Appeal Board that the appeal : ppeared to have merits.
