BIGAMY CHARGE

WOMAN ADMITTED TO PROBATION

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 9. “You must realise that bigamy is a serious offence and you know that you are not entitled to marry again while you are not divorced from your husband,” said his Honour Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court today in admitting Mary Elizabeth Rangl, alias Edith Tomlinson, who pleaded guilty to bigamy, to two years’ probation. His Honour said that the Probation Officer’s report showed that Rcngi’s present association was not a desirable one, and he thought that in the interests of the public and herself it should be terminated.

Under the terms of probation, Rangi will be under the control of the Prn. bation Officer.
