TRIPOLI AGAIN ATTACKED
Havoc Played With Supply Lines
LONDON, September 7
Further attacks on shipping in Tripoli harbour have been citrried out by British bombers. The quay and an Italian vessel anchored nearby were both hit.
The Italians are trying desperately to maintain the supply lines to Cyrenaica and Tripoli, but in the last three days British aircraft and submarines have sunk or damaged 11 enemy vessels.
Aeroplanes on the ground at Derna and motor transport south of the town were attacked by other machines, and raids were also made on Bardia, Majuba and El Adem. The first reference to night fighters in the Middle East is contained in the report of an attack on the Suez Canal zone, in which it was stated that British fighters last night shot down two raiders and damaged others. From all these operations one British machine was lost.
