ANZAC WAR FUND
Campaign In Hollywood SPECIAL BADGES DESIGNED HOLLYWOOD, June 27. Working under severe handicaps, the Hollywood branch of the Anzac War Relief Fund has collected nearly 5000 dollars in the moving picture capital in less than four months. Although this is not a large sum for rich Hollywood, it is a very fine effort on the part of the voluntary committee which, so far, has had to rely mainly for support on the Australians and New Zealanders living in the city. Hie wealthy section of the screen colony so far has not been tapped. Because it arrived on the scene so late, the Anzac body has been forced to subordinate its efforts to those of the British, Greek and Chinese organisations, all of which were created more than a year ago before the Anzac committee came into existence. At a result these bodies were able to gather around them leading British and American screen personalities who have worked untiringly in those various causes. As one means of extracting dollars from the Americans, the Anzac committee shortly will put on sale newlydesigned and attractive badges for men and women. The badge colour scheme is red, white and blue, in enamel on a gold background. Two silver ferns adorn the top, with a shield, which is topped by a crown. This badge is for women and will sell at two dollars. The men’s badge will be the same except that there will be no ferns on it. It will be sold at one dollar. The badges were designed in New York.
