WATERSIDERS’ UNION
Auckland Executive Resigns
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 15. Since the announcement that Mr H. Barnes had been elected president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Watersiders’ Union in succession to Mr T. Solomon, who had been appointed wharf superintendent, it has been learned that the secretary and executive of the branch have resigned. They say that their action was dictated by a policy matter, and not by antagonism toward the new president. All offer themselves for re-election.
A ballot w' be held to fill the vacancies next week.
