NATIONAL UNITY
Objective Of People’s Movement (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Aug. 15. The People’s Movement announced to-day that a deputation, arranged to wait on the Government and the Opposition to urge the formation of a National Government and the postponement of the gefleral election, had been deferred until the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) returns. The Movement stated that as the acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash) had said that no decision on the elections could be made until Mr Fraser’s return, it was obviously bettr to postpone the deputation until direct representations could be made to Mr Fraser as well as to the Leader of the Opposition (Mr S. G Holland) “In the meantime we trust that all those who believe in national unity will continue to do what they can towards the objective,” it was stated. An election this year would bring further disunity, and they looked to Mr Fi">ser to follow Mr Churchill's lead, which in a recent statement he had approved so whole-heartedly.
