THREE BROTHLrtS IMPRISONED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 15. A plea that they should be given the benefit of the new regulations, not yet gazetted, providing for the establishment of detention camps for conscientious objectors was made by three Darfieid brothers who were charged before Mr H. A. Young, S.M., at Darfieid this morning with failing to report to the military authorities in accordance with a Gazette notice and the National Service Emergency Regulations. They were Kenneth Edgar Adams, Raymond Leslie Adams, and Thomas Allen Adams, farmers of Darfieid. Each pleaded not guilty and the ctu»s were heard separately. The Magistrate ignored their request and sentenced each to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour in Paparua Gaol.
