TOFFEE APPLES

Prepare the desired number of apples by wiping them well and sticking a wooden skewer in each. Then make the toffee as follows: Put in a saucepan one breakfast cup sugar, one tablespoon butter, one tablespoon cold water, one tablespoon vinegar. Bring to the boil stirring frequently. Then add one tablespoon of golden syrup and one tablfispoon of honey. Boil till toffee sett when tried in cold water—about 20 minutes. The toffee is then a nice brown colour. While still hot, take each apple on its stick and dip into the toffee getting it well and liberally coated. Allow to cool and harden.
