HELP FOR BRITISH EXPORTERS
Effort To Avoid Delays (Rec. 9.41 p.m.)) RUGBY. June 18. A new system of help to British exporters to avoid unnecessary delays in the transit of goods have been introduced by the Ministry' of Economic Warfare by means of the issue of a "destination control certificate.” Under present methods when it is necessary' to tranship goods, for example, at Lisbon for Switzerland or at more distant ports like Singapore and Hong Kong, delays often occur, especially where there are British controls to prevent goods from reaching the enemy. Exporters holding an export licence will be able to obtain a destination control certificate which will go with the goods and at the transhipment port, or if . a ship is intercepted by the British Navy, will act as a passport and obviate the need of examination by the authorities.
