TRAGIC FAMILY RECORD

(6.30 pan.) CAPETOWN, June 18. The tragic effect of the war on one family is revealed with the marriage of Oscar Ohlsen, a member of the crew of a Norwegian tanker, to a South African nurse. Ohlsen’s father was killed when the Norwegian ship in which he was serving was divebombed. Oscar Ohlsen’s brother on the same ship lost both legs and an arm. His two sisters, who were nurses, escaped death when their hospital ship was bombed, but later they were killed by machinegun fire when hiding in an island cave. His mother was killed in an air raid and Ohlsen himself was blinded when his ship was attacked.
