CITIZENS IN THE LEAD By beating Oddfellows in the Afth round of the Geraldine and District Cribbage Association’s competition, Citizens now lead by 23 games. Results of play on Tuesday night were:— Citizens 33 beat Oddfellows 19, Bowlers 33 beat Orarl Bridge 19, South End 27 beat Raukapuka 25. The position of the teams is now as follows:—Citizens 153 games, Bowlers 130, South End 127, Orari Bridge and Raukapuka 126, Oddfellows 116. In the pairs competition for the Williamson Memorial Cup, R. Johnson and G. Fiffeld still lead with 49 games from C. Stock and A. G. Mallns with 39 games. Other scores are:—W. Crotty and E. E. RESIDENT FAREWELLED Before leaving to enter camp, Mr A. N. Blakiston was the guest of friends when a social and dance was held in the Orarl Bridge Hall. Mr J. M. Poihili made complimentary reference to Mr Blakiston and presented him with a wallet of notes with the best wishes of the gathering. Mr Blakiston replied. Music for dancing was played by Mr 0. Kelland and on the pipes by Mr D. Macdonald. Two songs Were contributed by Mr L. Hopkins. Novelty dances were won by Miss M Macdonald and Mr A. N. Blakiston (llicky spot), and Miss J. Lapthorne and Mr D. Macdonald (Monte Carlo). BASKETBALL DRAW The following is the draw for the Geraldine County Basketball Association’s matches on Saturday:— Senior: High School v. Woodbury at High School courts; Waihi v. Orari Bridge at Geraldine, Mr M. Hughes. Junior: Orari v. Old Girls at Orari. Mrs W. Depree; Rangitata v. Woodbury at Rangitata, Miss S. Powell; Oyari Bridge v. Peel Forest at Orari Bridge, Mrs W. R. Lapsley; all Junior games at 2 pin. The Woodbury senior team to play on Saturday is as follows (cars leave store at 1 p.m.): H. Ferguson, G. McEvey, N. Scott. E. Waller, C. Padgett, N. Collins, M. Heney, P. Shaw, J. Fiffeld.
