SOCIAL NOTES
Mrs A. C. Mclnnes, Wai-iti Road, has returned from a visit to Invercargill. Miss Hazel Bishop, Totara Valley, and Lilian Crombie, Waitohi, have returned from a visit to Nelson and the West Coast. Mr and Mrs M. Warren and their family, Christchurch, are staying with Mrs Bruce Murray,. ‘“Braemar," Mackenzie Country. Miss Margaret Cotterill, Christchurch, and Miss Erica Bridges, Wellington, spent the week-end with Mrs G. A. Bridges, Selwyn Street. Miss Margaret Scott has arrived from Dunedin to spend a holiday with her mother, Mrs J. M. Scott. Seddon Street. Miss Mcßae, Tlmaru, left yesterday to stay with Mrs George Murray, Tekapo. At the Christchurch competitions last week Dorothy Thwaites School of Dancing was placed first in the ballet, any age, Joan Griffiths second in operatic dance. 10-13 years, and Dorothea King third. The latter was third in the character dance. Thelma Harvey was third in Highland Fling under 8 years, and Teddy Harvey third in the tap dance under 12 years, and second in Irish Jig.
