SICK SOLDIERS
BATCH INVALIDED HOME FROM FIJI
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 9. Three officers and 26 men invalided from Fiji have reached Auckland. They are mostly cases of illness and there are also several men who have been injured. The men commented favourably on life in Fiji. The camps are comfortable and the food good, they say. AU will be given a month’s leave and sent to their homes after medical examination.
The party, commanded by Major C. J. Anderson, M.C., Dunedin, comprise: Lieutenant H. C. Parsons, Lieutenant A. D. Sinclair, Sergeant K. M. Maben (Auckland): Lance-Corporal p. j.Dunham (Wairarapa); Lance-Corporal J. H. Botten, Sapper L. A. Gribble, Sapper E. R. Hayman (Christchurch); Driver G. S. Harrison (Napier); Signalman R. H. Burgess (Auckland); Privates H. N. Short, D. s. Donaldson, H. J. Henderson, A. T. Day and R. J. Sycamore (Auckland); Privates R. H. Townsend (Dunedin); and Privates N. F. Watkins, J. H. Hawes, J. N. Moran, D. Foster, G. A. Smith, N. H. R. Davies, H. N. Willetts, and J. H. Gardner.
