Irene Dunne and Montgomery
Bringing together Irene Dunne and Robert Montgomery for their initial costarring appearance, Gregory LaCava’s production, “Unfinished Business” has been started at the Universal studios. Preston Foster and Eugene Pallette have been assigned the chief supporting roles with other important castings to follow. For both Miss Dunne and Producerdirector LaCava, the Universal lot is the scene of former individual triumphs. "Magnificent Obsession,” “Show Boat” and “When To-morrow Comes” were some of the successes made by the actress at the studio, while LaCava’s last effort there was “My Man Godfrey,” the comedy success of 1936. A modern comedy-drama, "Unfinished Business” casts Miss Dunne as a small town singing teacher who tires of her hum-drum existence and heads for New York. There she becomes romantically involved with two brothers, played by Montgomery and Foster. Joe Valentine, one of the most famous of cinematographers, is behind the camera on “Unfinished Business.”
