WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

OTIPUA Arrangements for the annual blriuday party were made at the May meeting of the Otipua Women’s Institute at which Mrs E. Vincent presided. The resignation of Mrs Hoare, who has left the district, was received with regret. Invitations were accepted to the Glenitl and Lyalldale birthday parties. Mrs R. Campbell and Mrs Godwin reported on the Federation meeting held at Waimate. It was Agreed to entertain Miss Esther Arden, who is shortly to be married, at a kitchen afternoon. The competitions resulted as follows: Premier bloom, Mrs R. Campbell I, Mrs Black 2. Specimen bloom, Mrs R. Jackson 1, Mrs Black 2. Chocolate sponge, Mrs E. Jackson 1, Mrs Arden 2. Three carrots, Mrs E. Morrison 1, Mrs R. Jackson 2. Italian quilting, Mrs Rapsev 1, Mrs Shanks 2.
