CROQUET

SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the South Canterbury Croquet Association was held on Thursday. There was a good attendance of members and delegates from Methven, Geraldine, Ashburton, Temuka, Pleasant Point and Timaru. The president, Mrs A. Shirtcliff, in her report, stated that there were 15 clubs affiliated and 332 members. Flag matches had been played during the season. The A and C grade flags were won by Methven and B grade fla" by Walreka (Ashburton). The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Remits from various clubs were discussed and officers were elected as follows: President, Mrs A. Shlrtcloff; vice-presidents, Mrs H. Allchurch, Mrs T. E. Chapman; country vice-president. Mrs Ruddock (Ashburton); referee, Mr W. H. Kirk; handicapper, Mrs W. McLennan; hon. treasurer, Mrs H. Patchett; hon. secretary, Miss E. L. Morgan; hon. auritor, Mr A. R. Graham.
