MANUFACTURERS’ DELEGATE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 7. The Minister of Labour (the Hon. P C Webb) announced to-day that Mr A. W. Nesbit has tendered his resignation as a member of the Industrial Emergency Council. "Mr Nesbit has performed excellent work both as member of the council and as chairman of the hours committee,” said Mr Webb, “and I desire to express my sincere thanks, and also the appreciation of the Government, for the valuable service he has given.’ Mr Nesbit was appointed at the inception of the council as the manufacturers’ representative. He is now devoting his whole time to the setting up of the auxiliary training scheme throughout the Dominion, and is at present attached to the staff of the Labour Department. Mr D. I. MacDonald, secretary of the Manufacturers’ Federation, has been appointed manufacturers’ representative on the council.
