Necklen and Toynbee 5-9. Women’s singles: Miss E. Ivey v. Miss M. Adam 2-7; Miss D. Wilks v. Mrs Williams 3-7; Miss Coughlan v. Mrs Morrow 1-7; Miss F. Ivey v. Miss N. Adam 1-7. Women's doubles: Miss Ivey and Miss Wilks v. Miss M. Adam and Mrs Williams 2-7; Miss Coughlan and Miss Ivey v. Mrs Morrow and Miss N. Adam 4-7. Mixed doubles: Aitken and Miss Ivey v. Miss M. Eames 9-4. Men’s doubles: McKirdy and Dennison v. Innes and Lewis 9-4; Drennan and Gibb v. Burn and Eames 8-9. Women’s singles: Miss C. Denny v. Mrs R. L. Eames 7-1; Miss L. Saunders v. Miss D. Vine 5-7; Miss F. Simpson v. Miss A- McCallum 4-7; Miss J, Barbour v. Mrs W. Clark 7-2. Women’s doubles: Miss Denny and Miss Saunders v. Mrs Eames and Miss Vine 4-7; Miss Simpson and Miss Barbour v. Mrs Clark and Miss McCallum 4-7. Mixed doubles: Miss Denny and McKirdy v. Mrs Eames and Innes 7-4; Miss Saunders and Dennison v. Miss Vine and Lewis 6-7; Miss Simpson and Drennan v. Miss McCallum and Burn 7-2; Miss Barbour and Gibb v. Mrs Clark and Eames 6-7. Aorangi won by 9 sets to 7. Claremont Club Because of the wet weather the opening day of the Claremont Tennis Club was postponed until next Saturday. There was a fair attendance of supporters and friends. After afternoon tea the president, Mr W. Black welcomed those present and asked Mr P. R. Talbot (patron) to sav a few words. Mrs Talbot declared the court open.
