PARACHUTES FOUND

Clumsy Effort To Cause Alarm United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 15 German parachutes have been found in England and Scotland, but no troops. When they were first discovered the opinion was formed that they had been dropped by the Germans to spread alarm, and investigation by the Home Guard has confirmed that opniion. Some of the parachutes were still in their containers, and in others the harness was not undone. The whole affair has been described as nothing more than a clumsy effort on the part of the enemy to undermine British morale. It has failed in that, and has served to demonstrate the efficiency of the organisation for countering the attack of parachutists.
