ECHO OF ACCIDENT AT WASHDYKE Helen Eva McAuliffe, married, aged 23, of Catherine Street, who received serious injuries in a collision with a I car on the Pleasant Point Highway on i December 2. died in the Timaru Public j Hospital yesterday without regaining consciousness. Mrs McAuliffe and her husband were returning on bicycles from Pleasant Point to Timaru. and it is believed that the accident, which occurred near the Washdyke School. I happened when a car travelling towards Pleasant Point drew out to pass a motor van travelling in the same direction. FOUND DEAD Samuel James Bennington, aged 50. of 52A Selwyn Street, was found dead ' in his car at the George Street taxi 1 stand about 10.45 last night. The ■ discovery was made by a fellow taxi- ' driver, Mr J. O’Connor.
