between Marlborough and Bush was played to-day on a heavy ground before a record attendance. It was an even forward struggle, occasionally brightened by short back movements. Bush, with the advantage of a heavier pack, got the better of the scrums. Marlborough was frequently penalised for over-keenness. Bush won by five points (a try by Lett converted by Hay) to three (a penalty kicked by Jackson).
