HUNTING
MEET AT PLEASANT POINT Conditions were perfect last Wednesday when the South Canterbury Hounds met at Pleasant Point, and during the morning gave the best and fastest run of the season. The hounds found a hare fairly quickly on Mr Maze’s property. She ran along the flat through several paddocks and then turned left-handed and ran up on to the downs circling through Mr Roberts’ farm and across the length of Mr Boyd’s farm, back into Mr Maze's where the hounds killed close to where they found.
After lunch the hounds put up a hare on Mr Maze’s property which gave a short run into Mr Roberts’ where she was lost. Another hare was found on Mr Roberts' farm and gave a very good run through Mr Maze’s on to the flat and out on to the Fairlie Road. Here she turned into Mr T. Jones' and ran up on to the downs where the hounds killed after a run of about two and a half to three miles. Those following were:—The Master: Mr C. L. Orbell on Fortnum, The Huntsman: Mr H. H.
