PAYS LAWYERS £20,000

further claims pending HOLLYWOOD, May 11. The boy film star Freddie Bartholomew. after four years of court battles, again finds himself the target of lawyers seeking to recover enormous fees. This time, it is Leonard Meyburg. an attorney hired by Freddie s parents when they came here on their first court fight for his custody. Meyburg obtained judgment for his fees against the parents and now seeks to collect from Freddie. The boys Aunt Cissy said last night: "Meyburg seeks £1750. but that is not all. Another court suit by the parents ran up fees for another lawyer totalling £2500. So Freddie is asked to pay £4250 out of his earnings for costs in suits aimed to hurt him. “A judge threw the £1750 case out of court this week, but Meyburg intends bringing other suits against Freddie in an effort to collect this. We don't even know where Freddie's parents are. The boy paid them £lOO a month for a year. Freddie has paid laivyers altogether, since his parents started their guardianship suit, £20,000. I am determined that he shall pay no more. All this is such dreadful publicity. We want to get through with law T cases once and for all.”
