CHRISTCHURCH AND TIMARU By Telegraph - Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. May 31. Four of an order of ten new rail-cars for the Government Railways Department will be placed on new Canterbury services. This was indicated by the Minister for Railways (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) in a statement last evening. The first all-Canterbury service will run between Christchurch and Parnassus, and might even go as far as the Hundalce, the new terminus of the South Island Main Trunk line. A weekly service will be run between Christchurch and Hokitika. “Another proposed service will run between Timaru and Christchurch leaving Timaru at 7.32 a.m., and arriv- | ing at Christchurch at 10.17 a.m. This service will return at 2.48 p.m., and I arrive at Timaru at 5.25 p.m. Additional services will be started between ! Oamaru and Dunedin, on the Otago ! Central line, and in the Southland I district from Invercargill-Winton-I Lumsden, and from Invercargill to | Bluff.'
