Captain I-'. G. Taylor, who has been deputyharbourmaster at Wanganui for several years, has been appointed harbourmaster.
Messrs G. W. Harty, T. G. Young and H. S. Gilberd have been appointed members of the Opticians’ Board.
The Rev. R. Godfrey, vicar of Aramoho, Wanganui, has been appointed vicar of the parochial district of St. Columba, Grey Lynn, in succession to the Rev. H. Squires, who has resigned on being appointed to the office of City Missioner in Wellington.
Mr W. J. Mountjoy, secretary of the Wellington Employers’ Association, was granted leave by the executive to attend this year’s International Labour Conference in Geneva. Mr Mountjoy expects to leave Wellington by the Wanganella on April 13.
Sir Harry Twyford, until recently Lord Mayor of London, is due at Auckland by the Rangitata from London on March 9 to spend several weeks’ holiday in the Dominion, which he knew as a young man. He will leave Wellington on April 3 for Australia.
Sir Harry Batterbee, newly-appointed High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, is due to arrive at Auckland by the Rangitata on March 9. He will be accompanied by Lady Batterbee and will proceed to Wellington to take up residence there.
