TRAINING OF YOUTH
To the Editor of “ The Timaru Herald ’* Sir, —Your instructive and interesting leader in your issue of February 17 on "Solving To-morrow’s Potential Criminals” is not only suggestive and instructive but timely. A great advance in the direction of the above subject could be made this very week while the teachers of South Canterbury are assembled for the annual refresher course. A lecture on this all important study would be of great value and would be reflected in our children of this fair land. Why confine these privileges to teachers? To-day parents and teachers co-operate to further the child's well being—moral as well as mental and physical. It is pathetic in the extreme to think of the tragic mistakes that are made even yet in the handling of little ones.—l am, eta.,
HELEN STEWART. Timaru,' February 21.
