STEADY INCREASE

Radio Licenses in Timaru During the past year there lias been a steady Increase in the number of radio licenses issued in Timaru and suburbs, and statistics compiled in the local Radio Inspector's office show that on September 31 last there were 4226 license holders, an increase of 433 on the 3743 licensees on October 1. 1937. During the 12 months the number of “new" licenses (other than transfers or renewals) issued totalled 764, an average of 64 a month. New registrations were exceptionally heavy during September, when 101 were issued.
