A number of Cabinet changes are announced. Mr W. R. Collins has been appointed Minister of Agriculture, Mr R. H. Henderson, Minister without portfolio to fill the vacancies caused by the resignations of the Hon. J. H. Hofmeyer (Minister of Mines, Labour, Social Welfare and of Education), and the Hon. F. C. Sturrock (Minister without Portfolio). Colonel Reitz, former Minister of Agriculture, has been transferred to Mines. The Hon. A. P. J. Wormerly, Minister of Commerce will take over Railways, while the Hon. O. Pirow will retain the Defence Portfolio to addition to Commerce.
