PLEA OF DUKE OF WINDSOR Reported Message to King Hint of Important Appointment United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received November 8, 8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 7. “The New York Dally News” gives prominence to a dispatch Irom Its London correspondent stating that the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor is the result of an impassioned plea to the King from Edward "to save me from this boredom.” The Duke of Windsor is reported to have repeated his request made during the Czecho-slovaklan crisis, adding: “My years of training for leadership are being wasted. Can't I help.” It is stated that the Duke of Gloucester will sound out Edward, on his readiness to accept a diplomatic post overseas, probably in Egypt or Palestine. It is stated that a high official of the Egyptian State Railways saw the Duke of Windsor a week ago and offered his support for the post of Ambassador to Egypt, and High Commissioner to the Sudan.
