Mr A. Congalton, supervisor of the mailroom at the Wanganui Chief Post Office, has been promoted to the position of supervisor of the postman’s branch at the Central Post Office, Wellington. The Rev. P. Wiltshire, vicar of Pongaroa, has accepted the charge of the parish of Hunterville, which is in the Archdeaconry of Rangitikei. Mr Wiltshire was assistant-curate at All Saints’, Palmerston North, for some years.

Mr G. Nelson, chief postmaster at Wanganui, will retire on superannuation on November 30 after 40 years’ service with the department. He joined the service at Petone in 1898, and was for many years attached to the staff of the director-general in Wellington.
