SHIPPING PORT OF TIMARU

No Water front Activity There was no activity at the Port of Timarti yesterday, the only vessel due, the Holmglen, being delayed at Dunedin by rain. She is now expected to-day, when the Waikouaiti, from Dunedin, is also scheduled to arrive. COASTAL VESSELS Listed Movements The Wingatui, from Oamaru, is due to-morrow to load for Auckland, via Lyttelton. She is omitting Wellington. Due to-day from Dunedin, the Waikouaiti will sail this evening for Lyttelton and Sydney. The Waipahi is now expected from Oamaru on Monday, ano will load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, via Lyttelton, sailing the same day. The Walmarlno is due from Dunedin on Sunday to load for Wellington and Auckland, via Lyttelton. She will sail on Monday. Due from Dunedin on November 13 the Waiana will sail the following day for Wellington at Auckland, via Lyttelton. The Wainui is due from Oamaru on November 9 to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne via Lyttelton. The Holmglen is due from Dunedin to-day to load for Wellington, New Plymouth and the Waikato Heads '.'a Lyttelton. The Holmlea is due on Friday from Dunedin. She will load for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato Heads before sailing for Lyttelton. From Dunedin the Port Whangar?! is due on Friday to load for Tauris due on Thursday to load for Tauranga, Auckland and Whangarel via Lyttelton. The Holmdale is due from Oamaru on Friday to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui via Lyttelton. The Breeze is due from Oamaru on Saturday to load for Wellington and Wanganui, via Lyttelton. The Gale is expected on November 8 from Dunedin, to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui, via Lyttelton. Tolten’s Progress The Union Company advises that the Tolten, from Pacific coast ports, will leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin, being now due at Dunedin on Saturday to complete discharge, and sail on Monday for Melbourne and Sydney. New Mauretania The first of six boilers has been hoisted into position in the Cunard White Star liner Mauretania, under construction at the Birkenhead yard of Cammell, Laird and Co., Ltd. It weighs 110 tons and is 24ft high and 20ft long. The boiler is of the high-pressure water tube type, and is the heaviest that has ever been fitted in a vessel on Merseyside, weighing 20 tons more than any boiler Messrs Cammell, Laird have previously built. Gothic Star Sold The Blue Star Line's refrigerated steamer, Gothic Star, of 5685 tons gross, has been sold to Italian shipbreakers for about £11,250. Built in 1899 at Clydebank as Gothicstar, the steamer was later renamed Brodholme and Nairnshire. As the Nairnshire she visited New Zealand a number of years ago.
