FLEET READY

MOBILISATION ORDER NOT CANCELLED

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 28.

The Australian Associated Press states that the British Cabinet is overburdened with urgent problems arising from the crisis. Apparently it has been forgotten to demobilise the fleet and official circles expressed surprise when their attention was drawn to the fact that the British fleet is still technically on a war footing. If there has been an oversight it is possibly due to the fact that the Admiralty has not been represented in the Cabinet since Mr Duff-Cooper’s resignation. It has so far escaped the notice of both the British and German Press. Naval circles state that a fresh proclamation by the King is necessary for the cancellation of the mobilisation order issued on September 28. END OF EXERCISES HOME FLEET RETURNS TO BASE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received October 30, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. The Home Fleet exercises, which were interrupted by the crisis, have been completed, and the ships have arrived at the Firth of Forth where there Is now the largest naval concentration seen for some years.
