KING AT NORWICH
NEW CITY HALL OPENED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Cnnvrlght (Received October 30, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. The King accompanied by the Queen, opened the £300,000 City Hall at Norwich, and then attended a football match.
DETAILS OF VISIT BUSY DAY FOR KING AND QUEEN British Official Wireless (Received October 30, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, October 29. The King and Queen, who are in residence at Sandringham, motored to Norwich, and after a visit to the ancient Guildhall, where the Mayors andl Lord Mayors of the city have been elected since 1407. proceeded along the route lined deep with enthusiastic crowds to the New City Hall and civic centre, which his Majesty formally opened. The building, from which a tower rises to a height of 183 feet, occupies a commanding situation overlooking the market place. The King and Queen were subsequently guests of the city at luncheon. The afternoon engagements Included the King’s visit to a football match, and the Queen’s visit to the local hospital to open a new maternity wing, and a tour of inspection by both of Norwich Lads' Club and the City’s Mutual Welfare Centre for the unemployed.
