100 MILES ROAD RACE By Telegraph - Wres? l Association CHRISTCHURCH, October 30. A bunch of seven riders at English Park this afternoon provided a fine finish to the 100 mile Grand Prix road race. C. B. Wareham (Kaikoura) off 14 minutes was second out on the track and as the riders went down the back straight he overtook his co-marker F. Newell (Rolleston). Coming round the bend Wareham kept up the pace and he went on to win the race and first prize of £lOO. Newell, off 14 minutes was second and M. Nnwood (Ouruhia) off 24 minutes was third. W. J. Lamberton, off scratch, rode splendidly to secure fastest time and the championship in 4hr 37min 43sec. He had trouble with the chain of his machine and was left by his co-mark-ers. However, he made up the leeway down the Marshland Road. A. Clemence made second fastest time, 16 seconds behind Lamberton.
