CRAIGHEAD DIOCESAN SCHOOL
ANNUAL SPORTS Parents and friends were present in large numbers yesterday afternoon, when the annual sports of Craighead Diocesan School were held at the Highfield links. Later the guests were entertained at afternoon tea at the school, where the rooms were decorated with purple flags and laburnum. On .the tables were bowls filled with yellow polyanthus. The guests were received by the principal Miss Clarke, who wore a frock of green marocain patterned in black, and a black coat and hat. The jumping events which took place in the school grounds were interesting to watch, the girls keenly contesting each event. Later trophies were presented by Mrs Monaghan. OLD GIRLS ENTERTAINED The dinner party arranged by the Craighead Old Girls' Association was held in the Bay Tea Rooms last night and a very happy time was spent by the many members who had arrived from all parts of South Canterbury for this re-union. The tables were effectively decorated with bowls of mixed flowers, while the lounge was decorated with tall vases filled with green leaves. The guests were received by the president of the Association, Miss Dorothy Raymond, who wore a frock of pink satin, and members of the committee including Miss Loo Cartwright, who was in wine-coloured crepe suede, Miss Dorothy Cameron in a frock of green velvet, Mrs H. M. Barker in red floral taffeta and Miss Janet Murchison, who was in a frock of floral linen. Miss Clarke, who was a guest of honour, wore a frock of black velvet.
