VIOLENT STORM
FOUR AMERICAN STATES SWEPT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 31, 6.45 p.m.) KANSAS CITY, March 31 Ten are dead and one hundred injured in tornadoes in four States in the south-west. Whole villages were destroyed and buildings piled up. Several schopls collapsed, but in most instances the pupils miraculously escaped. The storm, which was accompanied by rain and hail, cut off the electricity supplies, and many operations were performed by physicians by the aid of electric torches. Nineteen are dead and 200 injured. The storm lashed Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Central Illinois. BLIZZARD SWEEPS ALBERTA MAN FROZEN TO DEATH IN CAR United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 31, 6.3 p.m.) CALGARY, March 30 A blizzard in the drought area of Albert resulted in a train being snowbound and fourteen children In a school bus being marooned for twentyfour hours. The children were rescued in an exhausted condition. Hundreds of cattle and sheep perished. Mr A. H. Goodall, a barrister, who is missing, is believed to have been frozen to death in a snowbound motorcar.
