JUBILEE BANQUET
INVERCARGILL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, March 10. One of the oldest, if not the oldest, Chamber in New Zealand, the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce, at a jubilee banquet this evening, celebrated 75 years work in the interests of Invercargill and the province of Southland. That the province should receive full service and benefit from its port always has been one of the chief aims of the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce and its shipping committee has through the years done a great deal to realise that aim. The shipping committee had its birth in a bodv known as the Southland Importers Association which was formed in 1904. The banquet to-night was attended by representatives of local bodies and of business, commercial and farming interests. The president of the Chamber, Mr J. H. Reed, presided.
