SELECTORS CHOSEN
ENGLISH CRICKET TEST TEAMS INCREASED TO FOUR FOR 1938 United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 8. The English cricket test selectors are announced as follow: Sir P. F. Warner (chairman), Messrs P. A. Perrin, A. B. Sellers and M. J. Turnbull. The number was increased to four for 1938 only. The Board of Control recommended regarding the preparation of Test wickets that the custom of the county ground concerned should be observed. The Board decided that professionals should be paid £5O, plus rail and hotel expenses for each test. The Board approved trying out the eight ball over in 1939. Sir Stanley Jackson, who presided over the meeting of the Cricket Board of Control which appointed the selectors, disclosed that the captain of the team, when chosen, would be co-opted and have a casting vote.
