EXPERIMENTAL TENDERING IN AUSTRALIA United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Cop., right Melbourne, March 8 The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons), stated that if it should become necessary for private enterprise to undertake the production of munitions in a time of national emergency, the profits Will be controlled by the Legislature. Mr Lyons announced that six successful tenders for an experimental supply of munitions (to cost about £100,900), had been opened as a guide to the ability of private enterprise to provide components of munition in time of war.
