Speaking of what he saw recently in the way of pasture improvement and grassland management in New Zealand, Major J. R. King, of Sydney, a member of the Australian Dairy Produce Board, said he would not be satisfied until similar results were secured in Australia. He believed that, even with the less generous rainfall, Australia could improve its pastures 100 per cent. To farm land scientifically, Major King said, would mean untold wealth to dairymen. He added that he knew land that had not had a handful of manure put on it since the scrub was burnt, 100 years ago. The owners complained that this land did not produce as wel'. as it used to.
