To create further interest for members a C grade competition was introduced, and proved very successful, A. Adkins winning the Edmonds Cup. The women’s championship was won by Miss D. Jackson with Mrs Rathbone filling second place. The Club extends congratulations to these members on their excellent shooting throughout the season. Again during the season, many social functions were held, and all proved enjoyable to members as well as visitors. A ball was held in the Bay Hall and this proved very successful. Several dances were held in the pavilion and these were well patronised by members and visitors. The annual’ dance and presentation of prizes was held in the pavilion and was well patronised. During the season friendly shoots took place with several clubs from surrounding districts and visits were made to several ranges, these being much enjoyed by the members taking part. The women members of the Club took part in a series of shoots against a team from the Fire Brigade Club, and these were much enjoyed by all. Finance Financially the Club is in a very sound position, having increased its savings bank balance as well as purchasing a new rifle. Owing to the present range proving rather inconvenient, and there not being sufficient room for the building up of the social side of the club, your executive has taken steps with the object later of building a new range and club room, to secure permission from the Borough Council for its erection. Permission has been granted to build the range, and during the next season it is hoped that the club will be able to raise sufficient funds to enable the work of building the range to proceed. In conclusion, the thanks of the Club are due to supporters and members who so generously gave prizes, cups, and trophies; to the club captain, secretary and members who have worked so willingly in the interests of the club.
