A private cable message received in Auckland states: “The Pan-American Clipper will take off on Wednesday (to-day) from San Francisco and is expected to arrive at Auckland on Tuesday.” Mr Harold Gatty, the company’s representative in New Zealand, in an interview, said he had not received definite news relating to the time of departure. The time of arrival at Auckland was dependent on weather conditions and the time spent at the stopping bases for purposes of investigation.
