At Its meeting last night the executive of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce passed a motion of sympathy with the relatives of Mr F. C. May, who was president of the Chamber from 1924 to 1925. Sympathy also was extended to Mr J. Leggott, a former secretary, in the death of his son.

Appreciation of the services of the late Colonel G. F. C. Campbell, Comptroller and Auditor-General, was expressed by the Mayor of Temuka (Mr A. W. Buzan) at the Borough Council's monthly meeting last evening. Mr Campbell had held the most important and responsible position in the Civil Service, said Mr Buzan, and had filled it with much distinct benefit to the country, a motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed, and the Council decided to record its appreciation of Colonel Campbell’s service.
