CAROL SERVICES LARGE CONGREGATIONS Large congregations attended the services at the Geraldine Presbyterian Church on Sunday, when the Rev. W. J. Couling delivered appropriate addresses. At the morning service the soloist was Miss Barbara Mclnnes, who sang "The Holy City.” Additional seating accommodation was required in the evening when a carol service was held, splendid singing being a feature. The order of service was as follows: Hymn, congregation, “Doxology"; prayer of invocation and Lord’s Prayer; hymn, “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear”; solo, "Luther’s Cradle Hymn,” Miss Vera Turner; Scripture reading; hymn, congregation, “While Humble Shepherds"; solo, "Silent Night, Holy Night,” Miss Gwyneth Hughes; choir, anthem, “Sing, O Daughter of Zion”; address, Rev. W. J. Couling; carols, “Once in Royal David’s City,” “As Joseph was A-Walking”; congregation, “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing”; carols, “The Song of Mother Mary,” “Carol, Sweetly Carol” and “In Dulci Jubilo”; congregation, “O Come All Ye Faithful”; Benediction and “Vesper Verse.” Mr C. S. Davies was the organist at both services. Methodist Church. Large congregations were also the feature of the services at the Geraldine Methodist Church, during which appropriate addresses were given by the Rev. W. E. Moore. At the morning service the carols were “The Fiist Noel" and “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night” and the anthem, “Salute the Happy Morn.” “Over the Hills of Bethlehem” and “Silent Night, Holy Night” were the carols at the evening service, the anthem being “In the Beginning was the Word.” v

On Sunday afternoon the choir took part in a carol service at the Te Moan.-. School-room when there was c, good attendance of local residents. The Rev. W. E. Moore was the preacher. Mr N. R. Hooper was the soloist.
