WOMEN’S TOURNEY SECTION WINNERS FOUND By Telegraph Brest Association BLENHEIM, September 3 Sectional play in the Dominion women’s hockey tounament was completed to-day in favourable weather. The section winners were: A Otago B Canterbury C Eastern Southland Considerable' interest was taken in section A as a result of Marlborough B being defeated yesterday by Otago. Had Otago been beaten to-day or the game drawn, Marlborough B had a chance of winning the section. The winners of the B and C sections had easy victories. Otago, Canterbury’, and Eastern Southland were the semifinalists at Dannevirke in 1933. Results: Section A Otago 1 v. Ruahine 0. Southland 3 v. Ashburton 1. Marlborough B a bye. Section B Canterbury 4 v. Wairarapa 0. South Otago 6 v. Marlborough A 1. Auckland 8 v. Nelson 0. Section C Eastern 6 v. Akitio 1. Wellington 3 v. Poverty 7 Bay 0. Wanganui 7 v. South Canterbury 0.
